Vaccinations

It’s vital that you get all the necessary vaccinations before you travel to protect yourself overseas. Make sure that your diphtheria, tetanus and polio vaccinations are all up to date, and that you have your Yellow Fever certificate, as most countries will require this. For all other vaccinations, please allow plenty of time before travel. Some vaccinations require you to see the doctor 3 months before travel, so make sure you visit your GP early to determine which vaccinations you will need and when.

Tourist Visas

It is very important that you get all of your visas well in advance of travel. If you are a British Citizen Passport Holder, you will need visas for the following countries: USA, Turkey, India, New Zealand, Vietnam, Oman, Thailand, Philippines, Australia. Please be aware that visas for India and Vietnam require at least 15 days to process, and your e-visa for Turkey will take at least a week. An ESTA for travel to America will take at least 72 hours. Please note that we cannot apply for visas for you, so all visa preparation and completion is your own responsibility.

Prepare your body

This luxury ultimate wellness trip will be a body re-boot like none other. Your body will be worked, pampered, cleansed and energised with healthy foods, plenty of exercise and healing spa treatments. To make the transition for your body between its current lifestyle and new lifestyle a little smoother, start preparing yourself by making small changes to your present regime. Try to introduce an extra couple of hours of exercise a week into your routine and do something each day that raises your heartbeat or breaks a sweat. Add more fruit and veg to your diet, and take away at least one guilty pleasure.

Do your research

To really experience each new destination, try and learn a little about each place you visit before your arrival. Particularly for any cultural excursions, in destinations such as Rome and Istanbul, it is a good idea to know something about the historic points of interest and famous landmarks. Whet your appetite by reading a few destination novels to create a connection before you get there. Make sure you’re aware of any etiquettes so that you remain respectful wherever you go and try to learn 5 words for each country’s language.

What to Pack

Packing for a week-long holiday is hard enough, so packing for your ultimate one year wellness trip will be a task, but it doesn’t need to be a daunting one. Here are a few recommended items we suggest taking:

  • Be active wear prepared; from hiking boots to trainers and yoga leggings to swim wear, you will be keeping active throughout your trip with a variety of pursuits. All equipment will be provided, but don’t set off without the right attire.
  • Take a few nice things! Remember that this is no backpacking expedition. You’ll be staying in some of the world’s most luxurious resorts, so take a few nice items of clothing for the evenings.
  • For the Middle East, coverage is key. Pack clothing that covers the shoulders and legs to wear out of respect. Dubai is a fashionable city with luxurious shopping, so feel free to show some flare, but making sure it’s respectable.
  • On safari in South Africa, pack loose, lightweight clothing, with the odd long-sleeved fleece or shirt, because the evenings can be cooler and you will want protection from mosquitos.
  • For Asia, pack plenty of lightweight cotton clothing. A key item here is a good, sturdy, comfortable pair of sandals. They will be coolest for your feet, and easiest to slip on and off if you are entering temples.
  • Remember to pack enough of any prescription medication, but things like contact lens solution, batteries and pain relief can all be bought abroad.
  • Don’t forget to pack the camera and take a journal (even if the thought of keeping a diary usually makes you cringe) these are the best ways to capture and reflect on your experience.
  • Take a few books for the quieter moments of relaxation
